Ling-Ling and A-Kun met two German personification in accident. When they went along with the Germans, slowly but certain; they noticed something similar with them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sun shot its warmth into a
spot near the Berlin Wall ruins while two brothers were taking a short walk
there but one of them had to sit in his wheel chair. These brothers came from
Taiwan to Germany for education reason. They were Ouw Yang brothers, Ling-Ling
and A-Kun.
"The scenery is really
beautiful here, isn't it, Ling?" A-Kun started the talk.
"Indeed...," answered
Ling-Ling while Tiao-Tiao – A-Kun's robot – hopped around them and continuously
yelled, "Tiao... Tiao.... What a... beautiful... scenery...."
Tiao-Tiao hopped and hopped
until he suddenly hit a German before him. The German was tall and
fierce-looked. Knowing this, A-Kun tried to move his wheel chair towards him
while Ling-Ling followed him.
"Tiao... Tiao.... That man...
looks... so fierce...," yelled Tiao-Tiao when A-Kun helped him to stand
up. Then he turned to the German with a horrified sight and said, "Err...,
I'm really sorry, sir.... This is just an accident...."
The German just stood up in
silence and showed his blank face, until another yell went into their hearings,
"Hey, West! Why did you leave me?! How unawesome!"
A-Kun and Ling-Ling were
slightly confused with what they just heard. The German who was hit Tiao-Tiao
was called 'West' by another German. What's going on actually?
"Bruder? Es tut mir leid...,
I had a little problem here...," said the first German. The second German
ran towards him and when he stopped, he suddenly asked, "Hey, who are
they? They seem to be from other nation."
"Oh, we're from Taiwan. We
came to study here," said Ling-Ling. The Germans just nodded a bit.
"Well, how about
introducing ourselves? You seem to be awesome guys~" said the second
German. "I'm an awesome Prussia! And this is my awesome brother,
Germany!"
The Ouw Yang brothers set their
confused face again. "Prussia? Germany?" "Are you nation
personifications?"
"Of course we are. But if
you feel inconvenient for that, you can call me Ludwig. And about my bruder, just call him Gilbert," The
first German explained. "How about you two?"
"I'm Ouw Yang Ling, and
this is my gege, Ouw Yang Kun,"
said Ling-Ling, it resulted some confusion in those Germans. "Gege is our way to say 'brother'."
Hearing this, eventually the
Germans – I mean German personifications – slightly nodded their heads again as
sign of understanding. Then they threw some suspicious stare to Ouw Yang
brothers.
"What's the matter, gege?" asked Ling-Ling when Ludwig
stared him suspiciously.
"...Nothing..., we just
think that your life are almost similar with ours...," answered Ludwig.
Then he turned to Gilbert, "Bruder,
do you mind if I buy some snacks for us?"
"...Hmm, okay, okay....
Just go ahead, West...," said Gilbert.
"Wait, we're also looking
for a shop around here. May we accompany you?" Ling-Ling asked, but then
A-Kun said, "Ling, I'll be just here with gege Gilbert. Moreover, it would be troublesome if I accompany you.
You'll have to push my wheel chair continuously."
Ling-Ling sighed in necessity,
"...Okay, gege.... I'll go with
him...," Then he and Ludwig started to walk, abandoning A-Kun and Gilbert
near the ruins of Berlin Wall. The elder brothers just stayed there and saw
their younger brothers leaving from far.
A-Kun's
POV
Today Ling-Ling and I met the
German personifications, Germany and Prussia. That was a surprising moment for
us because we never met any personifications before, even when we were still in
Taiwan. And now I was waiting him and Ludwig – personification of Germany –
back with some snacks they buy from a shop, and so was Gilbert –
personification of Prussia.
Talking about Gilbert, I learnt
that Prussia no longer exists. But that day I met the personification of it
that was he. That sounded interesting to know more about him so I decided to
have a chat with him instead to do nothing.
"Gege, I learnt that Prussia no longer exists. I also never thought
that I would meet a personification of it. What's in your mind?" I started
the chat.
"I know that, too. But, I
have to be here to keep West well, so I should be here for him although I'm
just a personification without my nation, get it? Isn't that awesome?"
Gilbert answered my question with a big grin in his face. I just made a small
smile as sign of agreement, "Of course it is, and do you call your brother
West?"
"Yep. By the way, do you
mind if I tell you about my life with West?" He asked me, and then I made
an enthusiastly nod.
"Nah, see that
ruins?" He asked as he pointed at the ruins of Berlin Wall. I answered,
"Yes, I'm familiar with that. What's up with it?"
"I and West were separated
for long time with that wall...," he said. I could see his sad face
between his words. Then I said, "...Separated, eh? I was also separated
from my brother some years ago...."
"Was?"
"When he went to another
world in a video game without me, because of this...," I explained while
pointing at my feet. "I have disability so I couldn't go with him."
Gilbert just stood in silence,
waiting for my next words. But, nothing went out of my lips which meant I ran
out my other words so in that time I waited for him talking. Eventually, he
sighed, "Well, I don't really understand with what you said just now, but
yeah..., it was completely awesome...,"
"What do you mean?" I
asked. The wind blown gently, hit my suspicious face.
"I mean, it would be
awesome if both of us were separated from our brothers and we could watch them
out, right~?"
The wind blown a bit harder and
swept our faces gently. Slowly but certain, I understood what he said. Then, I
responded, "Does it mean that you always want to protect your brother in
other side?"
"Certainly~
Kesesese~" he laughed. I just made a gentle smile in front of him.
Suddenly a little yellow bird flew around me and chirped continuously.
"Hey, Gilbird! Where have
you been? I've been looking for you this morning!" Gilbert muttered in
annoyance and that bird just chirped like nothing happen. Then he turned to
Tiao-Tiao and me, "Anyway, say hello to awesomely Ouw Yang Kun
and...."
"...Tiao-Tiao...,"
"Oh ja, and also
Tiao-Tiao!"
"Tiao... Tiao.... We
are... awesome...," Tiao-Tiao responded as he hopped around Gilbert
continuously. We laughed together, near the wall which separated Gilbert and
Ludwig in the past.
Ling-Ling's
POV
My brother didn't want to
accompany me to the shop so I had to walk just with a personification of
Germany, named Ludwig. Yes, a personification. Honestly, my brother and I never
met a personification until that day. And in that time, I was in a shop with
him. But, I noticed something strange – he looked quite sad.
"Gege? Are you okay?" I asked him, and he threw a sadly look to
me. "What makes you sad actually?"
"When I see your brother,
I think I'm feeling something about bruder
in the past...," he said. I also thought that he will say something
related with when said that his life was almost similar with mine. "I get
more advantages than my bruder."
"What's up with
that?"
"He always did
self-sacrifice for me. When he was a Teutonic Knight, until when the Cold War
ended," he sighed, still with a sad face. Then he took a pack of
ready-served wurst – German sausages.
"I do understand your
feeling, gege.... Because...,"
Ludwig seemed to be slightly surprised with what I just said. I stopped taking
a pack of biscuits and said, "...my gege
did the same thing with yours...."
"What? How did he do so
for you?" I had known that he would be enthusiastic with my and my
brother's life.
"When we were children, I
played carelessly on the road. Suddenly my gege
ran towards me, and I remembered nothing except his disability...,"
"Disability? What happened
with him?" he asked enthusiastly.
"One day, he saved me and
as the result, he lost his walking ability. His feet were broken because they
were hit by a big lorry...," I explained the truth while taking two cans
of milk. "Because of that, I always feel guilty...."
Ludwig listened as he gazed at
a pile of wurst in front of him, and
replied, "I see.... I also always feel that since the Germany
Unification...,"
"What was the matter with
that?" I asked in big curiousity. "Is that the moment when Prussia
completely no longer exists? I mean East Germany...."
"That's right. And in that
time I just knew that he made every problem to make everyone dissolve him. He
did that for my sake...," he explained as I noticed a little tear rolled
through his face, "...and now he's just a personification without his
nation...."
With that explanation, I had learnt
that I wasn't the only one who felt guilty about his brother, even the nation
personification did. Eventually, I said, "Well, we had done many mistakes
and our brothers had sacrificed for us. Then, we have to make them glad with
our abilities, right?"
"...You're right. Now I
feel better, danke...," Ludwig
said as he wiped his tears slowly. "Anyway, do you mind if I pay your
things as well?"
My eyes went round hearing
that. I never expected that I would be treated by a personification. I
responded, "Really? I don't mind it at all, thank you very much!"
Then we walked and looked for the cashier.
---
"Oh, it's you, Ling. Did
you enjoy your time with him?" That question went out of A-Kun's lips as Ling-Ling
and Ludwig walked towards him and Gilbert. Not only that, Tiao-Tiao and Gilbird
– Gilbert's pet – welcomed them in happily manner as well.
"I did, gege.... How about you?" Ling-Ling
asked. A-Kun replied, "I guess we have a nice chat here while you were
going there."
"Tiao... Tiao.... They
had... a nice chat...," yelled Tiao-Tiao as Gilbird chirped next to A-Kun.
A-Kun just chuckled seeing them. Then he turned to Ling-Ling, "Ling, I
think it's time for us to go back to the dorm."
"Hey, wait a minute! How
about taking a photo of us? Then I will upload it into my awesome blog!"
said Gilbert happily. Ling-Ling replied, "Hmm.... Well, it would be a nice
idea...."
A-Kun and Ludwig smiled each
other, which meant that they agreed with Ling-Ling and Gilbert's idea.
Immediately, Gilbert groped his pocket to get his phone. "I guess by
taking photo together, you might remember us.... Aha! I got it!"
After that, the Ouw Yang
brothers and the German brothers took several photos of themselves. They
enjoyed the photo-taking so much. Why? Because some thought about their
similarity went into their mind completely. A-Kun and Gilbert, the
brother-complex elder brothers; and also Ling-Ling and Ludwig, the sturdy
younger brothers.
